Album of the day – new feature!

albumoftheday

Fellow faithful readers, shadowy lurkers and fervent followers: first up, I’d like to thank you for your kind patronage of this rather dour site. Honestly, if I was an actual reader, I might have tuned off, or thrown rotten eggs at this website a long time ago. So I’ve decided to bring more new content to the site!

Hooray! Throw more nachos at me! Turn up the music! Burn your homework! (Well.)

If you are already following me on Instagram, this isn’t actually new. If you are solely a WordPress reader (I can understand the reticent folks: Instagram has plenty of drama which used to turn me off, but I’ve met some lovely music-loving folks as well on the platform), I will be shifting my full review to the main blog, which you are reading right now. My reviews are getting mind-boggingly long, and it’s difficult for folks to hear the album that I’ve raved about without actually hearing a note of it, so to justify my mania.

What I do (or might continue doing here, in the future) is review an album that I’ve listened to recently, and write a mini-review of it every single day. Yeah, every single day. Well…I did disappear into offline wilderness till January this year, but I can safely say that I’ve been pretty consistent with the Instagram page. Don’t judge me, goddamnit.

I muse on an album every day, under the #albumoftheday tag. What did I like about the album? Why is this a must-listen? Was there something that I disliked about the album? Why the hell have the band worn silly silver suits on the album cover? I’ve posted mainly post-punk and new music album reviews, but as I listen to more music across different genres this will change. Obviously, this is something new, and I’ve heard rumours about the WordPress app (apparently it’s not very user-friendly), but hopefully this won’t deter me from posting frequently here!

Thank you for reading this lengthy post. I’ll be back to business, then!
